This project is a labor of love a way to explore American Roots Music with friends who I’ve known my entire life. Over 18 cities in under two months a road trip where we will meet musicians that will give us insight on their music and environment. The goal is to learn about what is happening today with American Roots Music.

I’ve always wanted to do a road trip through The South. Maybe I shouldn’t admit that is how this whole project started but that’s the truth. Although I am half American I have never felt a strong relationship with my roots. Driving around the country seemed like the perfect way to connect and learn. As a musician The South has always fascinated me so I decided to combine my love of music and this road trip. When I made the decision to go through with it I invited my friend Roberto Picazo who is a blues musician and is half Spanish half English. This would give a project a unique perspective a young foreign musician exploring the music he loves. Then Andrea (Roberto’s sister) join the group so she will be helping out along the way.

The three of us are embarking on this journey hoping to learn, explore and have fun. We will be writing updates on this blog about the road, music and surprises we come across along the way. Follow us on our adventure!
